What is branding in business? There seems to be a bit confusion in some business circles when it comes to the actual definition of branding. No need to fear, I will put your mind at ease with my quick explanation of “what is branding” and how to “brand your business”.
In a nutshell, branding is the very personality of your business. When thinking of branding in business or growing a brand try to remember that branding is the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHY.
1. Who – who are you? Your audience is waiting to get to know you. Have you made the proper introductions?
2. What – what do you do? Nine times out of ten your audience has a need for what you do. Have you made your product of service available?
3. Why – why do you do it? Everyone loves a great story, now it’s time to tell yours! What’s *your* why?
4. When – when do you do it? When and how do I work with you? When are your products or services available?
When thinking about branding in business try to be very specific in who you’re talking to in your marketing messaging. This person is your target audience (or your client avatar). Your branding messages are a sweet conversation between you and this person.
